Marius Black is a Filipino artist born and raised in Manila. He is a traditional painter and independent comic book artist.
His most famous art series is Manila Ukiyo-E which depicts the everyday lives of resilient Filipinos in a modern version of Japanese Ukiyo-e woodblock prints.
Another series of his is Manila Meow where he depicts stray cats in unique Pinoy or pop-culture settings as a creative exercise and as a testament of his love of cats.
His first art series Masochism is where he “skins” the flesh off his subjects using red ballpoint pens or paint exposing their inner beauty and unheard emotional pain.

Fine Arts Major in Painting • Cum Laude Graduate 2007
University of Santo Tomas España, Manila
He is also the founder of Kuro Saku, a tandem art group with his wife Guada where they write, draw and self-publish their own comic books, art books, poetry and novels.
